Dr. Natalia Liora is the Principal Investigator of SHIPAIR.

Dr. Natalia Liora is a post-doctoral researcher, holding a PhD in Atmospheric Physics. Ηer research focuses on the estimation of air pollutant and particle emissions from natural and anthropogenic sources, air quality assessments, the application and validation of air quality modeling systems, carbon footprint assessments, and climate change, with additional expertise in the design of emission scenarios, projection of future emissions, and assessment of long-term air quality and climate impacts under different policy and technological pathways.

Advisory Board

Dr. Anastasia Poupkou (Academy of Athens)

Dr. Poupkou has a many-year experience in the fields of air quality modeling and evaluation and atmospheric emission sources apportionment. Her research interests are related to the study of the chemical composition of the atmosphere and the climate change. In SHIPAIR, her support focuses on the analysis of the impact of shipping emissions reductions on atmospheric chemical composition.

Prof. Nikolaos Mihalopoulos (National Observatory of Athens)

Prof. Nikolaos Mihalopoulos (National Observatory of Athens)

Prof. Mihalopoulos has more than 35 years of experience in atmospheric chemistry and physics as well as on aerosol chemical characterization and sources. In SHIPAIR, his contribution and support focuses on the provision of aerosol chemical composition data for model validation and expertise with temporal and spatial variability of their sources.

Dr. Ilias Fountoulakis (Academy of Athens)

Dr. Ilias Fountoulakis (Academy of Athens)

Dr. Fountoulakis has been working for 15 years on solar radiation measurements and modeling. His support on SHIPAIR focuses on providing guidance on the setup of the radiative transfer model, the analysis of the simulations and the discussion relative to the radiative effects of aerosols.
